Monday with Lindsay's Stamp Stuff

This card was quick and easy to make using a snowflake from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff Warm Winter digital stamp set. Embossing using digital images is one of the hot topics on the crafting blogs lately so I just had to try it out for myself. I am happy to report that it was super easy. I printed the snowflake at 27% of size on glossy white paper. As soon as it comes out of the printer, sprinkle on your embossing powder (white in this case) and then heat using your heat tool. Easy peasy! The glossy paper gives you time to emboss before the ink dries. On regular card stock the ink dries too quickly to emboss using this method. Once the embossing was cool, I sponged ink on the white glossy paper to color it. You could print a whole sheet of the snowflake images then emboss and color them all at one time. What a great way to make several cards at once!

Crafting with DD - Christmas box

Here is a box made by my 8-year old daughter. She used my Cricut (with help) to cut the box, colored the image from Polly Craft, cut and glued it all together. She even asked to use the fluffy stuff (Liquid Applique) on the cuffs and wanted to sponge the edges of the image. Didn't she do a great job? Please give her some love.

Ho Ho Ho Hot Cocoa holder

After seeing Joy Stagg's tutorial on how to make a pocket card last week, I decided I had to try it. I made a pocket card/ hot cocoa pack holder and a matching card.
This image is a free coloring page from Elizabeth O. Dulemba. I love using her images for digital stamping. Digital stamps are so easy to resize. I reduced this stamp from a full page to the size you see here using Microsoft Word. Easy peasy.... (If you are not familiar with how to resize digi stamps in Word, send me an email at shestampsblog@yahoo.com and I will tell you how.)
Now if you notice that the embossing is only on the bottom of the card, that is a mistake. I was using my CuttleBug with some nesties (the way I have a zillion times before) and the handle was a little hard to push. I pushed on it a little and suddenly there was a big "bang" (I nearly jumped out of my skin) and the side of the CB fell off. I was stunned. I put it all back together, but it does not work properly now. There is only a litt…

Monday with Lindsay's Stamp Stuff

I LOVE this wreath from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff Christmas Potpourri digital stamp set. Love it!
I had so much fun creating cards using this set over the weekend. Not only did I make this card, I also made the card you can see here along with a couple others I still need to get pictures of.

Remember, you can download Lindsay's Stamp Stuff digital stamps immediately at her shop on MyGraphicO or you can also find them at the Lindsay's Stamp Stuff Shop Handmade store where when you spend $5 you get a free digital stamp. While at MyGraphicO, you might want to join the Lindsay's Stamp Stuff group where you can see all types of projects people are making using Lindsay's stamps.

Please take a few minutes to see what the rest of the DT was up to.

Fa La La La

Updated: This card was featured on SNR Universe and published in the January 2010 edition of Scrapbook News & Reviews

Happy Saturday! I spent the day with my daughter and we had a great time. (Except she wanted to listen to Christmas songs all day.) We actually got to see some of Santa's reindeer. Check out Vixen. Isn't she cute? We got to pet her a little bit. I could not believe how soft she was.
All the Christmas songs must have sunk in because "Deck the Halls" has been running through my head endlessly this evening. Although I started this card yesterday, I now knew how I wanted to finish it up. I used Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge #107 (WSC107) and the Dare U 2 Digistamp Challenge #26 to use glitter. I also used a faux stitching digital stamp (details below) as a guide for my paper piercer and then used my Chocolate Chip SU marker for the stitching. This is the for Little C's Stamp N' Scrap Hawaii challenge to use stitching (faux stitching is ok…

Cards by Jesse

My friend, Jesse, came over today so that we could work on Christmas cards. While we only finished 2 cards each, we did have fun and catch up on a lot of chit-chat. I really like the cards she made using Stampin' Up's Merry & Bright so I snapped a couple of pictures before she left to post. Aren't these just too cute?
You'll see the cards I made on Monday for the Lindsay's Stamp Stuff DT posting. While you are blog hopping, check out the blog candy being offered by Veronica. You have until December 1st to enter.
Have a great week end!

You're So Sweet!

I always need birthday cards for my stash so I decided to play with this cute ice cream float image from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff. It made me think of the warm days of summer. *Big sigh*
I also used WordArt to make the sentiment around the float. I will put up a tutorial in the next week or so to show you how to do it. It is pretty easy and gives you so many options with your digital (and even stamped) images.
Have a great day!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas....

I really like the way this card turned out. The central image is from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff Christmas Cupcake Wrappers digital stamp set. I wanted to do something with this set ever since I first saw it, but I don't make cup cakes, so.... here is my card. The set is very versatile. Not only can you use it to decorate your cupcakes, you can use it on cards, boxes, gift bags, etc. (Hint, hint - I have a special project in mind using this set for later in the month. Make sure you check back.)

Take moment to see what the rest of the Lindsay's Stamp Stuff Junior Design Team has dreamed up.

Birthday Gift for a friend

I made this birthday gift for a friend. I haven't given it to her yet but I thought it would be safe to post since she hardly ever jumps on the computer and doesn't follow my blog.
I bought the La Creme Stack by DCWV last week at Hobby Lobby with my 40% off coupon. I love the flocking on the paper. I paired it up with some white and black card stock that I already had in my stash. I made a card box with 8 blank cards. (I show 2 examples in the pictures but they are all different.) I am including an altered notebook, beaded pen, book mark, 4 magnets and a paperweight. I also have a box of delicious Choxie chocolates to throw in. I added some paper to the plain white gift bag to jazz it up a bit and will tie it with black ribbon.
What do you think?

Exciting News!

I have had the hardest time keeping this secret but I can finally let the cat out of the bag. I am honored to be part of the Design Team for Lindsay's Stamp Stuff. Woohoo! She has some of the cutest digis around. You can buy her stamps two ways - Lindsay's Stamp Stuff store on MyGraphicO or at Lindsay's Stamp Stuff at Shop Homemade where the every day sale is spend $5 and get a free digital stamp . Watch for Lindsay's blog post introducing the rest of the team.
I used Lindsay's Sketchy Leaves set to make this card. Thank goodness I don't need a sympathy card right now but I wanted to make one to have ready when needed. These beautiful stamps can be used for so many different things.
The layout is from Mercy's Sketch Challenge MTSC46 . I also used the cracked glass technique because I love the look of cracked glass with the autumn leaves. If you haven't tried it, you can find a tutorial on SplitcoastStampers.
I hope you have a wonderful Sunday.

Happy Halloween & Strong friends card

I hope you had a terrific Halloween. My daughter dressed up as a fortune teller complete with a crystal ball. Although she was disappointed that no one wanted her to tell their fortune, she still had a great time trick or treating. We then had friends over for pizza and a bonfire. We all had a good time.
This is my first post with my brand new Dell Inspiron lap top. I love it! I am getting use to a few differences from my ol' dinosaur of a computer but should have it all down pat soon. The biggest difference is the size of the keys on the keyboard. They are huge for a laptop (which is a good thing) but I keep hitting the wrong keys when I am typing. So, if you see any crazy words in this posting, just ignore them because I probably just hit the wrong keys....
Today I took some time to play with some of Lindsay's digital images (although I am only posting one card now). This cute cup was a freebie on her blog The Frugal Crafter. If you haven't checked out her blog, you should…
